The Crediton Heart Project and Crediton Town Team have agreed to merge to create a single charity working to make our town a more vibrant place to live.
The Crediton Heart Project was formed in 2018 with a bold ambition to build a new community hub for our area. The pandemic inevitably set us back but also presented new opportunities, such as the creation of the Crediton In & Around website and our successful summer programme of creative workshops. The Heart Project team has been reflecting on the charity’s challenges and achievements and our priorities for the future, as trustee Nancy Murgatroyd reports.
The Crediton Heart Project has been awarded a grant by the Arts Council to run an exciting programme of creative workshops next to the new Redlands surgery in Crediton.
This website was created last year by the Crediton Heart Project to support our community through difficult times. The site has already become a popular platform for sharing local information and stories and, as restrictions ease, we have exciting plans to develop it further, as Heart Project trustee Nancy Murgatroyd reports.
Can you help our community website? If so, why not join the Crediton Heart Project team? We are the local charity which created and runs this website. But we also have ambitious plans for a new multi-use building. To build on our achievements and adapt our plans for a Covid world, we are looking for people with time, energy and ideas to join us.

Topics cover everything from food to fires, stress to surfing, poetry to pampering, tunnels to tragedy, CODS to cakes or cycling, children’s stories to splendid isolation, wildlife to watercolour and the Wild Sargasso Sea.
The Crediton Heart Project is a voluntary organisation, set up in 2018, with the aim of keeping the heart in Crediton by supporting the vibrant arts scene, community groups and local enterprise in and around our town.
