The Crediton Heart Project was formed in 2018 with a bold ambition to build a new community hub for our area. The pandemic inevitably set us back but also presented new opportunities, such as the creation of the Crediton In & Around website and our successful summer programme of creative workshops. The Heart Project team has been reflecting on the charity’s challenges and achievements and our priorities for the future, as trustee Nancy Murgatroyd reports.
Can you help our community website? If so, why not join the Crediton Heart Project team? We are the local charity which created and runs this website. But we also have ambitious plans for a new multi-use building. To build on our achievements and adapt our plans for a Covid world, we are looking for people with time, energy and ideas to join us.
This website was created last year by the Crediton Heart Project to support our community through difficult times. The site has already become a popular platform for sharing local information and stories and, as restrictions ease, we have exciting plans to develop it further, as Heart Project trustee Nancy Murgatroyd reports.
Nancy Murgatroyd has lived just outside Crediton for 10 years. After studying art and design she worked in the textiles and fashion industry for many years. She was involved in building and managing a community centre in the Yorkshire Dales and worked as a non-executive director of the NHS, in an acute hospital setting and in the ambulance service. She recently retired from running a gallery selling contemporary British art and craft. Her personal creativity is expressed through painting, drawing, gardening and print making. She is a Trustee of The Crediton Heart Project.
