This website was created last year by the Crediton Heart Project to support our community through difficult times. The site has already become a popular platform for sharing local information and stories and, as restrictions ease, we have exciting plans to develop it further, as Heart Project trustee Nancy Murgatroyd reports.
Here at the Crediton Heart Project, like everywhere else, we haven’t been able to meet up, together, in one room, for nearly a year. The odd one-to-one cup of tea in the garden and some standing on doorsteps when it was allowed but that’s about it. However, that hasn’t stopped us moving forward at a pace.
As many local people know it is the trustees of the Heart Project who manage this, our community website, and also work to create facilities in the town that don’t, at present, exist. News of developments on that front will be shared here on the website and we shall be asking you to tell us your views.
Our website and social media continue to develop as we learn more about the content and presentation which is useful and appreciated by users. Keen eyed users of the website will have noticed that it has had a recent update.
The link to our blog articles is easier to find, next to the logo at the top of the home page. An array of inspiring articles tell us so much about the people of our area; their vibrancy, adaptability, community spirit and so much more. Individual businesses share the stories of their development and support services tell what they do to help.

The ‘Community’ section is all ready to be populated with information about your clubs and societies, classes and courses and venues to hire as soon as restrictions are lifted. One of the reasons for setting up this website, in the first place, was to support local venues by making information about them available to anyone wanting to book a space. Please email all this information. The sooner we have your details the sooner you can be promoted through the website and social media activity.
Hopefully, soon we will be able to welcome visitors back to our beautiful part of Mid Devon and we are preparing. The new ‘Visit’ section will link all our listings and articles to show visitors whereto stay, where to eat and things to do. There will be opportunities to advertise here.
We are working on a new ‘What’s On’ section which will contain a calendar of events. More detail on this in the next few weeks. Advertising space will be available here too.
Our aim remains the same, to fully support the businesses and community in Crediton and the surrounding area as life changes again for all of us.
