Printmaker and Heart Project Trustee Nancy Murgatroyd has been captivated by the new words and concepts the pandemic has generated. She has been exploring the meaning of ‘isolation’ through her work and urges others to share their creative responses by entering our creative competition ‘My Life in Lockdown’.
The Crediton Heart Project is a voluntary organisation, set up in 2018, with the aim of keeping the heart in Crediton by supporting the vibrant arts scene, community groups and local enterprise in and around our town.
Nancy Murgatroyd has lived just outside Crediton for 10 years. After studying art and design she worked in the textiles and fashion industry for many years. She was involved in building and managing a community centre in the Yorkshire Dales and worked as a non-executive director of the NHS, in an acute hospital setting and in the ambulance service. She recently retired from running a gallery selling contemporary British art and craft. Her personal creativity is expressed through painting, drawing, gardening and print making. She is a Trustee of The Crediton Heart Project.
